Introduction to Core Processes in Metal Furniture Production

Sheet metal working, bending, stamping, welding, spraying and electrophoresis are the core processes in metal furniture production. Their precision and quality directly determine the product’s structural strength, appearance, and service life.

1.Sheet Metal Working Cold working of thin metal sheets (0.5–3mm), such as cold-rolled steel and aluminum alloy, is conducted to produce blanks through physical means including shearing and cutting. The key requirement is high dimensional accuracy.

2.BendingSheet metal parts are bent into required angles and shapes using a bending machine. The core control points are bending angle accuracy and bending radius, which determine the stability of the bed frame.

3.StampingPerformed with dies and presses, stamping is divided into forming stamping (shaping, patterning, etc.) and separating stamping (cutting, punching). It features high efficiency and consistency, making it suitable for mass production.

4.WeldingMetal components are joined by heating or pressing. Common methods include arc welding, argon arc welding, and spot welding. Welds must be free of cracks and porosity, as they directly determine the structural strength of the furniture.

5.SprayingA coating is formed on the metal surface through pretreatment, spraying, and curing. Powder coating is widely used for rust prevention and decoration, with various finishes available.

6.Electrophoresis An electrochemical surface treatment process that provides uniform coating, strong adhesion, and excellent corrosion resistance with no dead ends. It is often used for parts requiring high rust protection and usually followed by secondary spraying.

These processes are closely linked. Strict control over each procedure is the key to ensuring product quality and achieving customization.
